Visiting Camp Dixie was an eye-opener. The number of kids that participate is remarkable. During the camp, students worked in groups to perform tasks. Teamwork was the underlying theme that was heard over and over from advisors and students. The Crazy Watercraft race was great. The ingenuity for the event allowed the students to use a roll of duck tape, cardboard, and trash bags to create a boat that would hold two people. This “out of the box” thinking allowed the students to use their problem-solving skills. The integration of the revised bloom’s for evaluating and creating cannot be remised. This was problem-based learning at its best!
