ITEEA Water Project at Spring Hill Middle

Water Project7th Grade students in Dr. Banks’  Invention and Innovation class participated in ITEEA/Hofstra University/National Science Foundation project that will  help develop social skills in education.

Spring Hill Middle School was one of several schools across the nation to participate in Engineering for All, a middle school engineering and technology education project sponsored by the National Science Foundation.

A video production crew of four visited the school on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 and filmed the students as the worked in teams to filter four types of water contaminants. Each contaminate required a different method of removal.

1. Sediment and particulate contaminate
2. Metal contaminate
3. Parasite contaminant
4. Bacteriological contaminant

The production team interviewed the students and Dr. Banks.  The crew  also recorded the students projects which are on display in the Cafeteria Hallway and the Media Center.
