FoodCorps Service Member Needed

Food CorpsScotland County Schools CTE Department is currently recruiting for a Food Corps Service Member to serve Scotland County for the school year 2016-17. FoodCorps, a national organization that connects children in limited resource communities to real food in order to help them grow up healthy, opens applications tomorrow for its sixth annual class of AmeriCorps service members. The selected community leaders will dedicate one year of full-time public service in school food systems – expanding hands-on nutrition education programs, building and tending school gardens, teaching cooking lessons and leading taste tests, and bringing high quality local foods into school cafeterias.

Applications are due no later than March 31, 2016. Here is more specific information on the benefits service members receive, and the link again to the application page. Please contact Dr. Camille Goins at 910-277-4459 ext. 313 or at camille.goins@scotland.k12.nc.us for more information.
