On Friday, March 4th, Elizabeth Covington’s Health Science II students enjoyed a class demonstration from the Laurinburg Fire Department on basic emergency response and fire safety. Aligned to the Health Science Curriculum, students were taught basic emergency response guidelines and proper safety procedures. During the visit firefighters, Jordan McQueen and Donald Locklear Jr., demonstrated the proper use of a fire extinguisher to eliminate a fire. Students were given a chance to demonstrate their skills learned by extinguishing a controlled fire. This was an exciting hands-on learning experience for the students.
