SHS Agriculture Students Attend Southern Farm Show

In February, students enrolled in the Agriculture program at Scotland High School had the opportunity to attend the Southern Farm Show held in Raleigh, North Carolina.  The Southern Farm Show is the largest agricultural show in the Carolinas and Virginia. The Farm Show occupies all seven buildings on the fairgrounds and spills over into acres of outdoor exhibits and temporary structures.  Farmers from across Virginia and the Carolinas converged at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh for the 39th annual Southern Farm Show where more than 400 companies exhibited agricultural equipment, technology and services.

The agriculture students visited the exhibits which included drones for agriculture research, agriculture supplies and equipment, John Deere, Massy Ferguson, Case International and Kubota Tractor displays.  The students also viewed the educational exhibits presented by the Agronomy Club from NCSU, the Agricultural Institute and Sandhills Community College.  The highlight of the day was the Cow Dog Demonstration presented by East Coast Cow Dog.
