TSA Competition

The 36th Annual Technology Student Association (TSA) Conference was held on April 14-16, 2016 in Greensboro, NC. Dr. Harvey Dean founder of Pitsco Corporation was the keynote speaker. Over 1200 members attended the 2016 conference.  The National TSA Conference will be held June 28-July 2, 2016 in Nashville, TN.

Scotland County Schools did an outstanding job representing Career & Technical Education in the TSA competition. Below are the results:

Carver Middle:

  • 1st Place Community Service Video: Madison Barrow, Audrey Lane, and Haley McGugan, Kassie Willis
  • 2nd Place Dragster: Adam Miller
  • 2nd Place Video Game Design: Brian Catanzarite, Jonathan Meredith, and Hector Pacheco
  • 2nd Place Website Design: Haley McGugan, Jaheim McRae, and Brena Settharath
  • 3rd Place Biotechnology: Megan Lam, Audrey Lane, and Amanda Whitehead
  • Carver Middle School received first place for contributing the largest donation to the American Cancer Society.

Spring Hill Middle

  • 2nd Place – Essays on Technology: Te’Aja McCoy
  • 3rd Place – Community Service Video (Raising Funds for the American Cancer Society): Hinson Peed, Matthew Patterson, Jayden Grant, and Jada McClennahan,
    3rd Place – Chapter Team – Parliamentary Procedures: Camryn Massey, Chancellor Byrd, Te’Aja McCoy, Victory Stoneburner, Caleb Smith, and Matthew Patterson,
  • 3rd – Place Leadership Strategies: Te’Aja McCoy, Chancellor Byrd, and D’Averia Johnson

Scotland High School Teams

  • Biotechnology Design – Jadelyn Ray, Jada Bright, Eric Flores, D’Ayana Munley
  • Debating Technology Issues – Tyler Pittman and Chance Turner Dragsters – TJ Davis and Tyler Pittman
