City of Laurinburg and Scotland County Schools Fruit Orchard Project

FullSizeRenderOn Friday, April 22nd in honor of Earth Day, a collaborative effort between The City of Laurinburg and Scotland County Schools, Intro to Culinary students planted 100 trees to include apple, pear, and fig. Plumbing II students assisted the city workers with the installation of the irrigation system that will help to provide a continuous waterIMG_1372 supply to the trees. Rodney Byrd, a Scotland High graduate, Beautification Supervisor for the City of Laurinburg and a Certified Arborist led the project. The trees will be used as an on-going school service project to provide fruit to the community and The Bagpiper restaurant. This was and will continue to be a great learning experience for our students.
