Hello, I serve as the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Director for Scotland County Schools. This is my fourth year working with Scotland County Schools. I am responsible for the leadership of the CTE program to include the strategic plan and vision, management of budget, technology, program equipment and CTE Central Support Staff. I provide administrative support to both middle and high school principals, teachers, superintendent, and local board of education through effective communication of pertinent information. I work cooperatively to build strong community/business and industry involvement to promote and enhance Career and Technical Education programs.
Prior to coming to Scotland County, my experience included Computer Technology teacher at Carroll Middle, Special Populations Coordinator/Career Development Coordinator/Instructional Management at South Robeson High School, Business and Information Technology Teacher with PSRC online, and the CTE Coordinator for the Public Schools of Robeson County district office. I served as the CTE Coordinator for Scotland County Schools prior to becoming director.
I have presented at the National High Schools that Work Conference 2009 in Atlanta, GA on strategies for turning around low-performing schools. I have also served on SREB HSTW Planning Committee in Nashville, TN as the representative for North Carolina in 2010. As a strong supporter of Futures for Kids, I have presented at the NC CTE Summer Conference in 2010, 2011, and 2013 on best practices using the program to support student career development. Additionally, I presented at the CTE Summer Conference 2013 on WorkKeys Best Practices. I also serve on the Futures for Kids Educational Leadership Team.
Education and Training
I am a recent graduate of Liberty University (2015) with a Doctor of Education degree and an Education Specialist degree (2012) both in Educational Leadership. I am also a graduate of UNC-Pembroke (2008) with a Master of Public Administration degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (2002) with a concentration in Management. I am certified in the areas of 7-12 Business Education, Career Development Coordinator, Handicapped/Disadvantaged and Career-Technical: Director, School Administrator: Principal, and School Administrator: Superintendent. Additionally, I am certified as a Microsoft Office Specialist in 2010 Office and PowerPoint and a NC Notary Public.

On a personal note, I am a mother of 4 (3 girls, 1 boy) and have been happily married for 18 years. I enjoy gardening, spending time at the beach with my family. I enjoy working with children and inspiring others to pursue their college and career goals.
