SHS Students Visit Johnson & Wales University

Johnson & WalesOn Friday, March 11th, Culinary Arts and Digital Media students along with Instructors, Chef Dibble (J&W Alumnus), Chef Richardson, and Samantha Ray enjoyed a visit to Johnson & Wales University. During the visit, participants had the opportunity to learn more of the programs of study available through the university including Liberal Studies, Business, and Culinary Arts. Additionally, students learned about internships, opportunities to study abroad, and the Career Exploration summer program for current juniors to be held July 6-8 at the Charlotte campus. Students could also have the option to apply at J&W during their junior year for the Early Enrollment Program and complete their senior year at Johnson & Wales. The Bagpiper wins “Best Entrée” at the Taste of the Town

Taste of the town 2Congratulations to Chef Dibble, Chef Richardson, and the Culinary Art students (Keshawn Covington, Shaniyah Holmes, Courtney Lindeman, Nora Locklear, Scott Mager, Kenyana McLean, Demontez McMillian, and Samantha Weigelt) from The Bagpiper restaurant at Scotland High School for winning the ‘Best Entree’ award at the Taste of the Town fundraiser for the Scotland County Literacy Council on Thursday, February 11, 2016. The Bagpiper receives a grade “A”

BagpiperCongratulations to “The Bagpiper” who received a grade “A” on their health inspection on Tuesday, February 9, 2016. Thanks to the dedication and hard work of Chef Steven Dibble, Chef Sam Richardson, and the culinary students, the health inspection was a perfect score of 100%. Additionally, the health inspector commented on how very impressed he was with the operation and the professionalism of Scotland High School Culinary Students.

The Bagpiper is a school-based enterprise located on the Scotland High School campus and is a part of the Career and Technical Education Program. Hours of operation are Tuesday-Thursday, from 8:15-1:45 p.m. for take-out and dining. Catering events are also available.
