Cat® Dealer Academy

North Carolina Youth Conservation Corps (NCYCC) is a comprehensive youth development program that uses the natural world as a platform for teaching environmental stewardship, job and life skills, leadership, community service, and personal responsibility.

The NCYCC is now accepting applications from youth ages 16 to 24 for 2016 summer crews at Positions are available on 3 week and 7 week crews that will work between June 18 and August 7. The application deadline is May 15th but students are encouraged to APPLY NOW because applications are accepted on a rolling basis and positions are already being filled.

NCYCC crews work on high priority conservation projects, enhancing natural areas and making them more accessible for public use. Participants are organized into crews of 8 to 10 participants and work (and live) outdoors under the close supervision of highly trained leaders. NCYCC plans to have four to five crews in 2016 who will build trails, restore habitat, remove invasive species, and enhance local and state park lands across the state. An additional hour is budgeted each day for WoRD (Writing, Reading and Discussion), an educational program focused on development of literacy skills through exploration of current topics relevant to NCYCC work.
