CAREER & TECHNICAL STUDENT ORGANIZATION (CTSO) BANQUET

Group PHoteOn Thursday, May 12, 2016, a banquet was held by the Scotland High School CTSO Advisors to recognize outstanding CTSO participants for the 2015-16 school year. More than sixty (60) faculty, students, parents, family, and friends joined together at The Main Table to celebrate in their child’s accomplishments. CTSO members and advisors have been extremely busy this year participating in service learning projects, regional and state competitions and assisting during schoolwide and community events. Students were recognized by their advisors for their participation in these events throughout the school year. Ms. Tilisa Adkins, who helped to organize the event, was awarded the Honorary Chapter FFA Degree. This was a wonderful night of celebrations, fun, and fellowship.

More than two-hundred (200) Scotland County Schools students’ participate in CTSOs each year to include FBLA, FFA, DECA, HOSA, SkillsUSA, and TSA. Participation in CTSOs is an extension of the classroom that provides students with leadeIMG_0262rship development and public speaking skills, technical competencies and helps to build confidence. Scholarship awards also provide the opportunity for students to continue their career-path through higher education.  SHS Advisors include: Tilisa Adkins (FBLA), Reid Ledbetter & Carrie Wilkins (FFA), Bobby Scott (DECA), Kendra Faries (HOSA), Kevin Goins, Steven Dibble, & Sam Richardson (SkillsUSA), and Monica Whitehead (TSA).
